Peugeot are a company noted for sensible, conservative designs in contrast to say Citroën. They, for example, kept on rwd long after the rest of the French motor industry had gone fwd.
But this wasn't always the case. They've had their little moments.
We've already explored the 402 Décapotable, which was the first car to have a folding hardtop. That wasn't the 402's only claim to fame. It was one of the first cars to be available with a diesel, something that went on to become a Peugeot speciality, and it had its headlights behind the grille, because why not.
